my actual writing, if you're curious

Since I tend towards introversion, being around other people except in certain ways can be really draining. Unfortunately, since I also tend towards depression, being alone can also be really draining in a different way. When I’m alone, the work of keeping my brain distracted from its pain and functioning properly falls entirely to me. I don’t have the option of focusing on other people or what they’re saying to me or how to respond to them. I have a lot of tools to compensate for this, but most of them are exhausting. On the bright side, it means that I’m not someone who spends a lot of time sitting around doing nothing.
