Based on this post by brutereason and also Please Stop Being Sad tumblr, I decided to do a list with a bunch of activities that make me happy, so that every time I am feeling sad, I can pick a paper from the jar and do it, instead of feeling bad.
My basic guideline was the same as brutereason’s, in the sense that I don’t feel better by talking to other people about it (most of the time), but by doing something alone. I know it’s different for everyone. The thing is to think about what makes you feel good and then write it down. Since I am also trying to decrease internet use at home, my computer related suggestions involve basically watching movies or TV shows. Some examples are: “watch Buffy”; “buy a magazine”; “look at the sky”; “write on my journal”; “eat ice cream”; “write haiku”; etc. It is a simple, but wonderful idea for anyone trying to cope with a difficult day/phase/moment.

This is awesome! View high resolution
